Founder’s Note - Vintage Daak Journal

There is something deeply moving about old postcards and stamps. They were never meant to be grand objects, yet they carried journeys, addresses, handwriting, dates, places, and the quiet urgency of someone reaching out to someone else.

This journal is inspired by that world of Daak — of handwritten letters, postal marks, vintage Indian stamps, and the romance of correspondence before everything became instant. Each cover carries the feeling of another time, layered with original postcards and stamps from British India, making every piece slightly different and quietly collectible.

Paired with recycled paper pages and a Devanagari brass bookmark finished with a jute tassel, this journal is an ode to paper, memory, language, and the written word.

May it hold your own thoughts, notes, lists, letters, and stories with the same quiet grace.

Namaste!
Anand Prakash

Please Note:

The pages are made from recycled jute fibre and have not been treated with any colour or dye; they acquire an off-white shade naturally as the jute rags are beaten into pulp to make the paper.
