About The Range

NUMISMATIQUE, a play on the word numismatics is a range inspired by Anand Prakash's hobby of collecting British-India silver coins. In the past, he has spent considerable time searching for old Indian coins across cities, villages, nooks, corners of bazaars and village markets. Our team meticulously traced old coins to create this range of limited edition notebooks, paperweights and notepads. (Numismatics means the study or collection of coins.)

Historical Significance of The 10 Paise Coin

A unique bookmark featuring a replica of a 1965 ten-paise coin design, a symbol deeply rooted in India's rich history and numismatic heritage.

The decade of the 1960s was a transformative period for India's coinage. As the nation transitioned from the traditional anna system, new coin denominations emerged, signalling a time of change and progress. This ten-paise coin stands as a testament to that significant shift.

Furthermore, the year 1965 itself holds a profound meaning for our nation. It was a time when India showcased its resilience during the second Indo-Pak war, a year that will forever be etched in our collective memory.

It's also noteworthy to mention the economic evolution of the 1960s, as evident in the coins of that era. The soaring prices of silver prompted a change in the metal composition of our coins, with the 1965 ten-paise coin being a poignant representation of this transition.

This bookmark is not just a piece of adornment but a token of history, a reflection of a nation's journey. May it remind you of India's enduring spirit and its ever-evolving narrative.
